We are family. Eugene & Mary McCormick and Werner Mueller & Monica McCormick Mueller are the proprietors of The Old Grist Mill Restaurant, and have been since we opened our doors on Halloween night 1995. A rather odd night to open a restaurant, what could have turned into a nasty trick actually wound up being a treat for 20 years and counting.
European trained Chef Werner Mueller, has brilliantly mastered the culinary arts to deliver the finest creations using the freshest ingredients from his kitchen to your table. Werner began his culinary career in his homeland Austria and has worked around the globe. Some notable kitchens he honed his culinary talents include: The Cunard Cruise Line QE II & Sea Goddess, The Wharf Restaurant, Grand Cayman, The Breakers Hotel, Palm Beach and Fromagerie, Rumson, NJ, just a few to mention.
Gene McCormick began bartending in the 1980's at the renowned Jolly Onion Inn, there he perfected his mixologist skills before opening The Old Grist Mill Restaurant. Gene will concoct most anything requested and will do everything possible to ensure your visit is a most enjoyable one.
Monica McCormick Mueller is the hostess-bartender-waitress. Along with Gene, she too, began her hospitality career at the Jolly Onion Inn. Some notable restaurants she polished her mixologist/sommlier/waitress skills were: The Wharf Restaurant, Grand Cayman, Hotel Ellmau, Salzburg, Austria, Fromagerie, Rumson, NJ and The Russian Tea Room, NYC.
Mary McCormick, a retired business teacher, does the job no one wants to do-- keeping all of the paperwork tidy. And last, but certainly not least, Alexander and Maximillian Mueller finish our story, by joining their parents and grandparents at The Old Grist Mill Restaurant. We hope you enjoy your experience and we look forward to serving you again.
